I’ve never seen a homemade panel that could produce any reasonable amount of electricity, unfortunately. Be careful of paying money to any website that says you can power your house cheaply with homemade panels. If it worked, regular solar installers would be out of business.
I don’t know if this is what you had in mind, but a conventional solar electric system will cost thousands. It could save you money, depending on how much sun there is where you live, and how much electricity costs. But it doesn’t make economic sense in all areas.
